Hurricane Dorian: Tuesday, September 3rd update

Plan is to Reopen Wednesday, September 4th

The Campus Emergency Operations Committee is continuing to monitor Hurricane Dorian. Like the National Weather Service and the Polk County Emergency Management Department, we are expecting some rain and wind today through tomorrow.

The current plan is to open Wednesday, September 4th.

Wednesday, September 4th classes are scheduled to meet.

Football, men’s soccer, baseball, and women’s volleyball have practices scheduled at 3:00pm Wednesday, September 4th.

Employees should report as normal (as always, contact your immediate supervisor if this is not possible).

What if I Cannot Make it Back Safely?

Simply put, you should stay put until it’s safe.

If you cannot get back on time safely, get back as soon as you’re able, bring back proof of where you were (dated McDonald’s, Starbucks, Walmart receipt with address works just fine), and see Academic Dean as soon as you get back.

We simply cannot know the weather or road conditions everywhere… ultimately you are the final judge of your personal safety and should govern yourself accordingly.

What if I need help?

Please let us know… the Webber family comes together in times of crisis and this is not our first storm.  It’s pretty likely we can do something to help, but you’ve got to let us know you need it!
