Webber International University is continuing to monitor the approach of Hurricane Ian. Complete details regarding cancellation and closure appear in the previous message (ID 2022-2).
The current guidance (https://www.nhc.noaa.gov/) indicates that we are directly in the path of this major hurricane and predicts a near certainty of sustained hurricane force winds as well as massive amounts of rain. While we have strongly recommended that our students with somewhere else to go strongly consider going there, Student Life staff, Resident Assistants, and Security will remain on campus during the storm, and bagged meals and bottled water will be distributed to those students who stay with us.
We are anticipating all staff back on campus Friday, September 30th and a full opening on Saturday, October 1st.
